An Amazing Layout for Boys

Urban Scrapbook Layout

Isn’t this an amazing layout created by Connie Nichol using CTMH’s Urban Paper Pack?  I totally love it!  I haven’t done too much with this paper collection yet, but definitely feel inspired to scraplift this layout!

January Creative Scrapbooker Sketch

She started by using the January Sketch by Creative Scrapbooker for inspiration–with a few tweaks.

Paint Blots with CTMH Watercolor Paints

I love how she incorporated some paint blots on her paper using our Watercolor Paints.  It’s actually a technique I had taught at our Crazy for Cards Event last month. Super easy and a unique twist to using your paints.

You can read more about her layout on the CREATIVE SCRAPBOOKER BLOG.

Quick & Easy Resist Technique

Thinking of You Resist Technique Card

A super quick and easy way to do the resist technique with your projects is by using Close To My Heart’s Irresistibles.  I love these accessories because they are so simple to use and they pack a nice punch.  But the sad thing is they don’t stand out much in the catalog or online–because they are white!  Here are the Irresistibles Frames I used in my card above…

You can see there are 3 different resist patterns you can achieve with these frames.  There are also fun Irresistibles Hexagons, too.

These give you multiple fun patterns to work with!  All you do is select the one you wish to use on your project and then ink up a sponge and rub the color into the chipboard.  The pattern will resist picking up the ink and display a fun pattern.  Easy!

Artbooking Made Easy: Spooky Halloween Layouts

This morning while driving the kids to school I noticed many houses had their homes already decorated for Halloween.  Well, I guess today is October 1st (not like when I saw decorations in stores in July & August!!) so it makes sense.  So I figured it was time to share some Halloween inspiration today!

It’s easy to add some creative spook to your projects with the Cricut Artbooking Collection from Close To My Heart.  See a few creepy creations and learn how to make your own in this video.

Autumn Poster Tidings Card

Poster Tidings Sept Stamp of the Month Card

Today’s share is my first sample using September’s Stamp of the MonthPoster Tidings.  The set comes with 2 different subway art type images–one for Autumn and one for Winter.  I’m not sure if it’s because it’s closer to Autumn or what, but I’m gravitating more toward that image!  Note to self: must create more with the winter one! 🙂

Here is a listing of the supplies I used to make this card:

  • X7174B Huntington Paper Collection
  • 1385 White Daisy Cardstock
  • 1270 Autumn Terracotta Cardstock
  • Z2114 Cocoa Stamp Pad
  • Z2137 Olive Stamp Pad
  • Z2101 Autumn Terracotta Stamp Pad
  • Z2104 Barn Red Stamp Pad
  • Z2123 Goldrush Stamp Pad
  • Z1867 Jute Ribbon
  • Z1707 Bitty Pearls
  • Z1298 Edge Distresser
  • Z1294 Sanding Kit
  • Z726 Sponge Daubers

One tip about the Jute Ribbon–since it’s a very thick “ribbon” keep in mind that you can pull the strands apart to create less thick/more subtle embellishments like I’ve done on this card.  I pulled out 3 strands and then braided them together–securing both ends with a knot.

Ombre Technique

Enhance your lettering and other embellishments by using the *NEW* Ombre Technique.  See how it’s done with some fun Close To My Heart products and a lot of creativity.  It is so awesome and SO easy!!
