Create 2 Cards At Once
How would you like to create 2 cards at once? Silly question, right? If you’re already sitting down and creating a card, why not create 2 cards without adding too much extra time to the process. And if you’re one of those people who have a tough time giving away your handmade cards because you either have fallen in love with it or you want to keep it for future inspiration (guilty!), this process allows you to give away one and keep one. It’s a true win-win situation!
Let me show you how. Here’s a quick rundown on how this process works:
Cut an 8-½” x 11” piece of cardstock in half along the 8-½” side
Score the (2) 4-¼” x 11” pieces at 5-½” for your card bases
Cut (2) 4-¼” x 3-¼” coordinating pieces of patterned papers
Measure 1-½” down the right side (the 3-1/4” side) of the (2) patterned papers. Create a diagonal cut from that point to the upper left corner of the patterned papers
Swap the patterns and adhere to the card bases
Finish by adding a stamped sentiment, ribbon, and embellishments
I used this same process to create 2 more cards using new Stampin’ Up! products just released on Tuesday.
Notice anything different about these 2 cards versus the first 2 cards? I changed how I did the diagonal cut for the 2 sets of cards. The first cards I cut 1-1/2” from the right hand side of the patterned paper to the upper left corner. The second set of cards I cut 1-1/2” on the left hand side of the patterned paper to the upper right hand corner.
Here are the products I used to create the 2nd set of cards:
Isn’t this a fun way to create multiple cards? While the cards aren’t identical, they are really close to identical. I love that they look so similar. This way if you wish to keep one for future inspiration, you can. But it’s also nice that if you want your recipients to have unique cards, they are slightly different from each other making the 2 cards special for the recipients. Best of all—it really only takes a few minutes more to create 2 cards at once.
