Make 4 Cards Quick & Easy with the Stack & Shuffle Technique

Want to learn how to make 4 cards quick & easy with the Stack & Shuffle Technique? You won’t believe how easy it is to do. I created a quick graphic to show you the easy steps for creating these simple cards. Start by selecting the color for your card bases. They could all be the same or all different. It’s up to you! For my samples above, I used the simplicity of Basic White card bases (5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”.) Bonus—using an 8-1/2” x 11” sheet of cardstock allows you to create (2) card bases per sheet. So you only need 2 sheets to create these (4) cards. Tip: score at 4-1/4” along the 8-1/2” side. Then cut at 5-1/2” along the 11” side. Two card bases ready to use!

While I generally tend to create portrait orientation cards, I chose to create these cards in landscape orientation instead. I used the NEW Nature Walk Paper Collection along with the NEW Reason to Celebrate Stamp Set. And of course I couldn’t resist using my absolute favorite die set—Stylish Shapes. This die set lives on my table as I reach for it all the time. It would be silly to put it away!

I alternated between stamping the sentiment in a square orientation as well as a diamond orientation. Admittedly, I like the diamond orientation better. The angles with the diamond shape accent the style of the cuts nicely, I think. But the square looks great, too. I could have left off any embellishments—just keep it really clean and simple—but I decided to alternate (again for variety) between using the NEW Faux Bronze Pentagons and the Low Profile Sparkle Dots.

I decided to show you even more versatility by rotating the cards 90 degrees—so they’d be in portrait orientation. Even though I used different papers, I kept the stamps, embellishments and card bases all the same. A slightly new look, but still quick & easy to create!

Want even easier?

I created these cards using the NEW Love Notes 6” x 6” Paper Collection. Even my focal points are cut from this paper collection. No embellishments. Just clean and simple cards. It doesn’t get any easier!

Want to step up this technique just a little?

These elevated Stack & Shuffle Cards have a mat of cardstock behind the cut pieces. The mat measures 4” x 5-1/4”. Then I used 1 piece of Love Notes Paper and 1 piece of two-tone cardstock (embossed with NEW Hearts of Love 3D Embossing Folder & then sanded) cut to 3-3/4” x 5”. Since the papers are slightly smaller, I changed the cutting dimensions to 3/4” from the upper right cut diagonally to 1-1/4” from the lower left corner. Then you cut diagonally from the upper left corner to the lower right corner, just like before. Again, I cut my focal points from the papers. But I used die cuts to mat them and added depth with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Another fairly quick way to create 4 cards, but elevated just a bit. All of these options look a little different, but all use the same simple formula to create them. You can make them as simple or as elevated as you like. Anyone with any level of cardmaking experience can make 4 cards quick & easy with the Stack & Shuffle Technique.
