Special Chocolate Bar for National Chocolate Day

Today I am sharing how to create a special chocolate bar for National Chocolate Day. Tomorrow is National Chocolate Day and Saturday is Halloween. Both occasions are perfect for this simple way to step up a traditional candy bar. This works for any flat candy bar like a Hershey’s bar, Nestle Crunch Bar, Mr. Goodbar, etc.

STEP 1:

Starting with a 6” x 6” piece of paper, score it at 1-3/4” and 4-1/4”.

STEP 2:

Use strong adhesive, like Tear & Tape Adhesive, to wrap the scored paper around the chocolate bar. I like to place a strip along the edge of the bottom of one side and along the edge of the top of the other. This creates 2 points of contact when sealing it together to make it a stronger hold.

STEP 3:

Use a punch, like the one from the Hole Punch Assortment, to punch one end of the bar wrapper. Then string 18” of ribbon through the hole with the bar resting on the ribbon and the 2 ends equal.

STEP 4:

Tie the ribbon ends together in a knot and trim ends. Then you can pull on the knot end to pull the candy bar up.

STEP 5 (Optional):

This simple decorative paper wrap with the fun, interactive ribbon pull is a nice enough step up from just gifting a simple candy bar. But you could go another step up and add a focal point. Mine sample here for Halloween is incredibly simple. I used the versatile and unique Spotlight on Nature dies to create my pumpkin shape and then a Black Marker to draw a jack-o-lantern face. Easy right? If you like these unique circle dies, you should grab them quickly. They are on the Last Chance List and will retire once they are sold out!

I love this simple idea of wrapping a chocolate bar. It’s not only perfect for Halloween (who doesn’t love a full size candy bar, right?!) but also makes a great way to craft a special chocolate bar for National Chocolate Day.
