Today I’m sharing a Happiness Never Grows Old Card. Happiness Never Grows Old is this month’s Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month. It has beautiful floral images and lovely sentiments as well.
This set would be beautiful for coloring–whether with markers, colored pencils or watercolor paints. For my card, I wanted to show you could use it without having to worry about coloring the images. I used our VersaMark Ink Pad with our Kraft Paper to create subtle watermark backgrounds on both the right and left sides of the card.
I wanted to add a little more sparkle and shine to tie in with the gold embossed “beautiful” sentiment so I painted Diamond Stickles over each stamped blossom. It made for a simple layer of sparkle that would dry quickly. All I did was squirt a small dollop onto my paintbrush and then rubbed it in a circular motion on top of each stamped blossom—no real technique. I definitely didn’t worry about staying in the lines, either!
This Stickles Painting Technique seemed like a perfect compliment to the sentiment “be your own kid of beautiful.” It’s a fairly quick card to put together since there’s not a lot of layering or any fancy folds to it. It was meant to be stunning in its simplicity.
