For today’s Make It Monday (16th edition), I’m sharing a fun color combination I used with this For My Beautiful Friend card. This card not only uses today’s color challenge, but also the Close To My Heart July Stamp of the Month, For My Beautiful Friend.

Today’s color challenge is to use Nectarine, Ballerina and Mink together in a project. Each color is beautiful on it’s own. But together they also make for a soft combination with the bright pop of Nectarine. And don’t forget that our cardstock is two-toned. Feel free to utilize the light versions of each color as well for more versatility!
I did several subtle techniques on this card. First, I did some tone-on-tone stamping with the string of flowers stamped in Nectarine ink on the Nectarine Cardstock. Nectarine is such a fun, fresh color for summer! Next I stamped the sentiment in Mink with 2nd Generation Stamping of the brushstroke in Nectarine ink. I added in the tiny butterfly in the corner in Ballerina.
I rounded the top and lower right corners of the Nectarine Cardstock to add some softness and tie it in with the curves of the butterfly. After I rounded the corners, I lightly sanded all the edges to expose a little of our white core that our cardstocks have. I scissor distressed the edges of my sentiment square before I mounted it on Mink Cardstock.
I embellished my card with a small silver sequin for the butterfly body as well as some clear sequins from the Loose Silver Sequins Pack. Liquid Glass works perfectly for adhering sequins! Finally, I tied some Mink Twine around the Ballerina Cardstock. I know I’ve said it many times before, but I truly LOVE our Mink Twine. It’s a great weight, easy to tie, adds some texture, and generally just makes such a great embellishment.
