Close To My Heart recently released a new stamp set, Mothers Are the Best, just in time for Mother’s Day. But while this stamp set is perfect for making a card for mom or documenting a day with her, this new stamp set is so much more.
As you can see this stamp set contains beautiful flowers, a 2-part butterfly (love this!) as well as some fun little accent images. There are so many creative options to explore. I grabbed our *NEW* Make It From Your Heart Volume 5 and used Pattern 23 to create my card I’m sharing today. (If you ever feel blocked creatively–whether with cardmaking or scrapbooking–I highly recommend our Make It From Your Heart How-To Guides. They are a truly worth their weight in gold.)
I kept the color scheme very simple with a strong black & white focus with just a touch of Raspberry. The patterned paper is our Bulk Jingle Joy. Don’t you just love this paper? There’s so much versatility with it. It’s been my “go-to” patterned paper a lot lately. I heat embossed both the sentiment and the flower overlay image in Black Pigment ink and Clear Embossing Powder. It’s hard to see but I used one of our Black Bursts in the center of the flower. It looks as though it was made for it! To finish it off, I added a Clear Sparkle in the center of it.
To frame my sentiment I used my favorite die set–Fancy Borders. Here’s a tip–die-cut your papers first. After you have the pieces cut, line them up and adhere them together as desired. Then trim them to the length you need. This takes away the frustration of getting the right configuration and die-cutting position with multiple pieces.
