Reindeer Food – Our Christmas Tradition

Here is a Triangle Treat Container I made to put “Magical Reindeer Food” in for my children to spread out on the lawn tonight.  A big thanks to my friend Candace for this wonderful tradition!
At preschool, their teacher used oatmeal with red and green glitter.  But for mine, I followed Candace’s advice and used birdseed (I used Parakeet food because it came in a smaller quantity, was cheaper and had some nice holiday coloring to it already!) with some red and green sugar sprinkles.
And here’s a little poem I included with the Reindeer food:
Magical Reindeer Food

Inside this special package is a treat but not for you!

It contains magical reindeer food and here is what you must do.

Sprinkle this magical reindeer food carefully on the ground.

And tonight if you are lucky, Santa’s reindeer will come round.

But here’s a secret I have to tell; one you must try to keep.

That Santa’s reindeer only come when you are fast asleep.

So quickly put your jammies on and get a story read,

Then sprinkle this magic treat outside and hurry off to bed!

Merry Christmas, my friends!
