Happy National Watermelon Day!

Cricut You Are Here Watermelon Card

Today is National Watermelon Day.  Did you know that?  I sure didn’t until I saw it listed in my planner for today.

It seemed like the perfect opportunity to create a card!  Plus, when I checked if I had any watermelon images on the Cricut cartridges I owned, this cute watermelon slice popped up in my *NEW* Cricut You Are Here collection. Serendipity, right?

I grabbed my *NEW* Whimsy Fundamentals and Basics Fundamentals along with some Raspberry Cardstock and got to work.  I then added some Black Shimmer Trim, Black & White Dots and some White Twine to finish off the card. All-in-all, it came together pretty quick.

If you’re a fan of watermelon, be sure to celebrate today.  Jamba Juice is even offering a special in honor of the day.  Time to go enjoy some watermelon!

*NEW* Cricut You Are Here

Cricut You Are Here Collection

Today Close To My Heart released a brand *NEW* Cricut Collection.  Meet the Cricut You Are Here Collection.  Just like the previous exclusive CTMH Cricut Collections, this cartridge contains 700 images (so awesome, right?!?) Along with these images, you also get 3 coordinating stamp sets and a 20-pack of cardstock–so you can start cutting out images of course!

This collection contains so much more than what you might think by the name.  It does contain a lot of travel type images (National Parks, variety of vehicles, travel signs) but there are also holiday images (tree, pumpkin), sports (bowling, football, softball), everyday life (Polaroid, swimsuit, teacup) as well as sentiments and a font.

CTMH Office Tour Ticket

Last week while at CTMH’s Annual Convention, Consultants got the exciting opportunity to visit the CTMH Office for a tour.  Apparently, they recently just did a makeover to the office.  While I never saw the office before this revamp, I must say it looked spectacular!  I have a bunch of photos to share.

CTMH flag

Just look at the scenery from their building.  Simply breathtaking.

Heart Lawn

And then for a bit of cuteness and true creativity, look at how they spray painted hearts on the lawn outside the building.  Okay, now it’s time to go inside!

CTMH's Mission Statement

First off, when you enter the building, they have their mission statement on the wall.

CTMH's Office Wallpaper

You then notice the very striking wallpaper behind the staircase that leads upstairs.  It’s breathtaking in person!  I couldn’t resist getting a photo taken!

CTMH Cricut Heart Mobile

In the lobby, you’ll see another breathtaking item–a heart mobile.  If I remember correctly, there are 770 hearts cut from one of our Cricut Collections to create this masterpiece. Beautiful, right?!?

Wooden Art Display

As you’d expect, they had many masterpieces displayed throughout the office.  These two are my favorites.  I love the creative spin on displaying the artwork.  This wooden one with the clips screams a fairly simple DIY project, right?

Scrapbook Layout Art Wall

And how about this stunningly simple idea for displaying 12 x12 scrapbook layouts?  I loved it the instant I saw it!

I was surprised at how simple and clean the area of the Art Studio was.  Of course, I do realize that they probably did a major clean up knowing this tour of Consultant was going to be happening!

Art Studio quote

I especially loved the quote they had on the back wall of the Art Studio.

We found out that the artists are given one of each new product from an upcoming catalog to create artwork samples.  Can you imagine how awesome that would be?!

Jeanette's Office Sign

Once you step around the corner of the Art Studio, there is this cute sign leading you to Jeanette’s office.

Jeanette's Creative Space

Just outside Jeanette’s office is her creative station. Of course, I had to get a photo here, too (please excuse the knobs that look like little antennae from my head!)

You are Welcome Here Sign

Right next to the creative station is a door with another chalk masterpiece. It’s so true–everyone is welcome.  The CTMH Community is so awesome.  If you’ve ever thought about becoming a CTMH Consultant, you should!  I’d be happy to talk more with you about it and answer any questions you might have.  Plus, I just have to say, July is a GREAT time to become a CTMH Consultant.  You can get an additional 12 pack of stamp sets (as part of our Stampaganza promotion) which are valued at over $215!  Wow, huh?

CTMH Tour Guide

So last, but not least, I need to give props to our amazing tour guide, Jose.  He actually works in their IT department so he didn’t really have a lot of firsthand knowledge of the products (although he did say he was a master with the item numbers!)  He said a lot of his paycheck goes back to the company when they host their company store on pay day.  He said he’ll FaceTime with his wife and she’ll tell him what to buy her.  Such a good husband, right?!?

I hope you enjoyed getting a glimpse into the CTMH office.  I know I really loved being able to take this tour.  It was a special experience.  And that is what life is all about–our experiences!

Quick & Easy Goody Bags

CTMH Convention 2017

Today marks the start of CTMH’s Annual Convention–well, actually, today is Leadership Day and Day 1 of Convention begins tomorrow.  But even if you’re not attending Leadership (which I am & am so excited to be doing so!), you’re traveling to get to Convention and the excitement is surely building.  Many CTMH Consultants will tell you that this occasion is definitely a holiday in their books. An event NOT to be missed.

And this year is even more exciting because Convention is back in Salt Lake City (it hasn’t been there for 10 years!) so they will be offering a Home Office tour to all attendees.  A behind the scenes tour. How exciting!

Single CTMH Convention Goody Bag

There are many standard activities that occur while at Convention aside from the regularly scheduled activities.  Card swapping, Team Meetings/Celebrations, Roomie Gifts, etc.

CTMH Convention Goody Bags

I’m excited to have several of my team members joining me at Convention this year–the most so far!  These are just part of the gifts that I will be giving to each of them.  I wanted to share these today because they were easy to put together, but look super cute!

Closeup Convention Goody Bag

I started with some fun foil star bags I found in Target’s Dollar Spot (that place gets so much of my money; there is always something cute in that section!)  The stars seemed perfect to go with CTMH’s Little Dreamer Collection so I used CTMH’s Retired Cricut Art Philosophy Collection to cut some tags and then stamped and cut out images with the Little Dreamer Cardmaking Stamp Set + Thin Cuts die set.

To close it up, I used scraps of the Little Dreamer Paper glued to some basic clothespins with Liquid Glass. Then I added some stars I cut with the *NEW* Stars Basic Shapes Thin Cuts dies using Silver Glitter Paper.  Crazy easy to do and completes the look nicely.  And even better is it doesn’t take any hard to find items to make.  Just some cute bags (you could even make some out of paper you have at home if you liked!) and clothespins (Don’t have any?  Check your local Dollar Store.)

Perfect 1st Day of Summer Card

Sun & Surf Cricut Flower Market Card

It’s official!  Today is the First Day of Summer.  We’ve had some really HOT days here already, so to me, it already seems like summer is here.  Plus, once school ends, I think both parents and kids (and teachers!) alike, feel as though summer has officially begun.

Angled Sun & Surf Cricut Flower Market Card

Today I wanted to share 2 fun summer cards–one I created (and have offered at my monthly Card Buffets) and one I received from Laurie L.  Both are unique and definitely say summer in their own way.

My Sun & Surf card was created using CTMH’s Cricut Flower Market (their most recent one; but fingers crossed they’ll be another *NEW* Cricut Collection released on August 1st!)  I used each of CTMH’s newest colors from their Adventure palette (Pansy, Emerald, Willow, Lemon, Tangerine, Blossom and Raspberry) to give a nice bright pop of color.

Summer Double Z Fold Card

Laurie’s card uses CTMH’s *NEW* No Worries Paper Collection.  It’s a fun Double Z-Fold Card.  It also uses the *NEW* Summer BBQ Stamp Set and the No Worries Sequins (these might be my favorite sequins offered!)

Open Summer Double Z Fold Card

So when you open it up, you get the full pennant banner that says “summer” to show. A fun way to wish someone a wonderful summer full of happiness and surprises; just like this card!

The color combination in this card is great.  I don’t know that I would have put it together.  But I will definitely be using it together very soon!  It contains: Sapphire, Lagoon, Glacier and Tangerine.

Don’t forget that CTMH recently added an additional special to the month of June–get 25% off all cardstock.  With all these beautiful colors I’ve shown in these 2 cards, you may be inspired to stock up on some cardstock.  And the timing couldn’t be better!  To purchase some CTMH cardstock or other CTMH items, please visit MY ONLINE CTMH STORE.

Here’s to a great start to a wonderful summer…enjoy it!
