The last several days have been quite busy for me! The Stamp & Scrapbook Expo kicked off it’s 2018 season in Pleasanton and I hosted a Close To My Heart booth! The Expo itself was Friday and Saturday with setup on Thursday (in the pouring rain, I might add!)
As promised, here is another fun project using the Cats & Bats Scrapbooking Stamp Set + Thin Cuts dies. This Booo Box Card is not only a card but a fun treat, too!
I had a lot of fun using both CTMH’s *NEW* Silver Foil Paper and Vellum Paper. Each had a great effect when I embossed on them. I chose to do a White Embossing for the spider web on the Vellum Paper and then I trimmed it up and selectively used a Glue Dot behind where I was going to place the spider (which I trimmed up after cutting out with the die.) I added a little Cats & Bats Black Dot to create more dimension for the body of the spider–love it!
For the Booo sentiment, I stamped in Black pigment ink and then used the Clear Embossing Powder. Instead of tapping away the excess powder, I left it and totally LOVE the look it achieved on the Foil Paper. It’s sort of all bubbly and crackly looking which ties in beautifully with the design of the stamped image.
Also, check out how cute the bat looks–I used googley eyes on him. I always love the look that achieves; makes it a cute but spooky bat! 🙂
Finally, I followed the design of the outside in the inside for consistency. I also couldn’t resist stamping the “Sugar High” sentiment from this set as it totally was spot on with the box of candy corn that’s attached!
This super fun card design is one we will be creating at our Holiday Extravaganza next weekend. If you’re interested, you can sign up to get your very own kit of all 8 projects we’ll be creating. Plus, it’ll be shipped directly to you complete with pictures and step-by-step instructions. How fun, right? To get your Holiday Extravaganza Kit, click HERE.
Happy 1st day of Fall! I’ve been wanting to share this adorable wreath I made, but figured it would be perfect to share now that the fall season is officially here.
I’m in love with the rich, warm hues of the *NEW* Falling for You Paper Collection.
If you are joining us at the Holiday Extravaganza next month, you’ll get to make your very own wreath! Haven’t signed up yet?! You still can. You can attend in person or get a kit mailed to you with all the supplies you need–complete with step-by-step instructions and pictures.

May is National Scrapbooking Month. The perfect time to either host or attend a scrapbooking crop! For the last several years, I’ve hosted a crop with some other CTMH Consultants both in November (a great time to prepare holiday cards and/or get a jump start on your holiday layouts) and one in May. This May was no different.
While our group was smaller this time, we had an amazing time together. I think it may have been one of my favorites to date in fact! I found some fun glitter straw cups at my local Dollar Tree (pretty much bought them out!) and thought these would be perfect to decorate with some vinyl and give to each attendee. I used CTMH’s Cricut Artistry Collection for this fun “Scrap Happy” sentiment. I cut it out in both a Teal and Silver Metallic Vinyl. I really love how they turned out; so did the attendees! It was awesome seeing the ladies use their cups all day. =)
I also made up some Bingo cards for those who wanted to give themselves a focus/challenge throughout the day. It was completely optional, but I think everyone played in some capacity.
And to help everyone out, I gave each attendee a little container full of most of the items that they needed for their Bingo card. All they needed to do was figure out how they could use the items on their projects to mark off that square!
If you missed joining us this past weekend, never fear, another Crop will be coming your way in November!
And if you can’t wait for a fun event, join us for our Paper Party next month–Saturday, June 10th! We’ll be creating cards, boxes and gift card holders all with the *NEW* CTMH Papers from the recently released Seasonal Expressions 2 Catalog.
For more information about our Paper Party, see my list of CTMH Events.
This past Saturday, we held our Annual Crazy for Cards Event. This event is a wonderful way to get exposure to many different styles of cards, techniques and fold styles. This year we created 9 different standard sized cards along with 9 mini cards.
We had 3 instructors who each designed 4 projects and 34 ladies registered. It was an all day extravaganza of card making FUN!
Here are the projects we did:
This is a Double Dutch Fold Card which focused on embossing and coloring with alcohol markers. I love how the embossed look not only gives more dimension, but also helps you stay in the lines easier when coloring. =) And you just can’t go wrong with our Foil Tape!
This card focused on using our Sugar Rush Thin Cuts to not only cut out the donut and it’s coordinating glaze/sprinkles, but also the window for the card base. I love how beautiful the Sugar Rush Dots are–so much sparkle to them! Continue reading
